  • dwm - Window Manager. As much as i despise minimalism, the code is very simple and easy to read
  • slstatus - Nice status line for dmw, same as above nice and simple
  • picom - A lightweight compositor used for things like smooth window animations and trasparency, very usefull if you want more pezzazz in your enviourment
  • alacritty - Very cool gpu accelerated terminal emulator but honestly you're probably better off using kitty
  • shutter - Screenshot tool with lots of cool feaaturs like snippet editing and viewing, extremely bloated but ehh. Usually i use flameshot but portage is currently throwing a Tsundere fit
  • firefox - This mighty fire canine has truly no equal(so good that it almost makes me forget the 40 minute compile time)

  • Strawberry/Clementine - Yet another music player, or rather two....they both originate from the same fork but i cannot for the life of me choose one so i just alternate between both.
  • ncmpcpp - The myth, the man, the legend., this list wouldn't be complete without it, very smple and lightweight music player based on mpd(however quite a NIGHTMARE to setup and same goes for mpd, honestly if it wasn't for chatGPT i would just not bother)

  • gdb - gnu/debugging has never been easier, sure there might be prettier tools but this gets the job done most of the time
  • cmake - A robust cross-platform build tool, i use it even when it doesn't really make sense to use it some people might get mad but it's just bloody nice and easy that's it
